Lung perfusion scanning in hepatic cirrhosis.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abnormal lung perfusion scans using radioactive particles were found in five out of six cases of hepatic cirrhosis with arterial hypoxaemia. None had clinical evidence of cardiopulmonary disease or signs of pulmonary embolism on arteriography. The scan defects are probably caused by a disorder of the pulmonary microvasculature, which may show regional variation in severity.

Assessment of Hemodynamics in a Rat Model of Liver Cirrhosis with Precancerous Lesions Using Multislice Spiral CT Perfusion Imaging
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES To develop an optimal scanning protocol for multislice spiral CT perfusion (CTP) imaging to evaluate hemodynamic changes in liver cirrhosis with diethylnitrosamine- (DEN-) induced precancerous lesions. MATERIALS AND METHODS Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the control group (n = 80) and the precancerous liver cirrhosis group (n = 40). The control group rece...
متن کاملMesenteric and splenic contributions to portal venous CT perfusion in hepatic diffuse disease.
AIM To investigate the changes and contributions of superior mesenteric venous perfusion (SMVP) and splenic venous perfusion (SpVP) to portal venous CT perfusion in canine model of hepatic diffuse disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS By selective catheterization in superior mesenteric and splenic arteries respectively after CT perfusion scanning, SMVP and SpVP became available. Sixteen dogs were ad...
متن کاملThe role of hepatic arterial flow on portal venous and hepatic venous wedged pressure in the isolated perfused CCl4-cirrhotic liver.
In cirrhosis, hepatic venous pressure gradient is used to measure portal venous and sinusoidal pressures, as well as drug-induced decreases of elevated pressures. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of hepatic arterial flow (HAF) changes on portal venous perfusion (PVPP) and wedged hepatic venous pressure (WHVP). Normal and CCl4-cirrhotic rats were subjected to a bivascular l...

متن کاملThe comparison of a,AT phenotypes in some HBsAG-positive patients with and without cirrhosis in Tehran
Alpha-1- antitrypsin is the most important serine protease inhibitor in serum. This protein has several phenotypes. Some of these phenotypes such as MZ, M, Z, M, S, MS, ZZ,…. Cause a,AT deficiency which leads to damage in many tissues such as liver, lung, kidney. 60 patients and 28 healthy individuals (control group), aged 7-65 years old were studied for a,AT activity and a,AT phenotypes. The c...
